The Alchemist religion and spiritual growth
Although The Alchemist is a novel about spiritual growth and Santiago is clearly a Christian, Coelho does not seem to advocate one religion over another. Discuss the role of religion and spirituality in the novel. What is Coelho’s message about spirituality and how does this message conflict with organized religion? Examine any inconsistencies in how religion and spirituality are portrayed through the characters in the novel. Write a thesis and show support on outside religions. DO RESEARCH ON OTHER RELIGIONS!
