Quantitative block diagram
• Shows the conditions and results of the mass and energy inputs/outputs as well as typical conditions such as temperature, pressure, mass or volume flow rate, phase. This quantitative data will be inside the block diagram rather than the name of the units. Energy balances are carried out to evaluate the energy requirements of the process i.e. heating, cooling and power requirements.
