Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Order Description
Write an essay (1,500-1,650 words) on special interest groups (SIG).
Develop an argument for creating a Special Interest Group for an issue which is important to you, or describe one to which you already belong.
Discuss the tactics and strategies your interest group would use (or uses) to help influence legislative outcomes and public opinion.
Briefly discuss the issues your SIG would address (or addresses). Are they local, state, or federal issues? Is your group advocating for or against these issues?
Do you see any “down side” to SIGs, or is it smart politics to be proactively engaged in the process?
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is not required.
