-Scream has a lot of humor in it. One could argue that it borders on Horror/Comedy. Do you think this “hybridization” helped or hurt the film? If a horror film is “supposed” to be scary, did the humor detract from that goal? Or does the humor somehow make the film scarier?

2.After watching the film, it is easy to see the link between the largely horror genre and the more subtle comedic theme. As such, the incorporation of comedy in Scream, in no means negates to the intended outcome of the film. The reason for this is because the director of the film uniquely balances the two genres in a way that they do not overshadow each other. The inclusion of the comic aspects in the film for me serves the purpose of making the film unique and distinct and memorable since the early film by the same name faded from memory. Humor reduces the chances of having monotony in the film. This is the reason that most horror films are not a big success, they have become monotonous, contain clichés and have become predictable. Incorporating comedic aspects therefore did not take away from the film, rather, it enhanced it.
