Multimodal Learning in Early Childhood – Observation and lesson plan
Order Description
Observe a child or a group of children and identify their needs and interests. Based on your findings design a lesson plan that embraces the approaches to support
children’s multimodal learning. In the lesson plan state:
•the needs and interests of the child/children
•the aim of the lesson plan and the activities
•the age of the child/children
•the previous knowledge of the child/children
•the proposed place and time of the lesson plan
•the necessary resources and teaching materials (you may want to submit a sample of them as an appendix to illuminate your arguments)
•the description of the activities
Describe the necessary arrangements of the activities in order to include children with special needs and/or those with English as an additional language. Review the
different approaches to literacy in the early years settings and create links with your lesson plan. Consider the importance of storytelling, books, speaking,
listening and creative technologies for children’s narratives and create links with your lesson plan. Provide a critical discussion and support your arguments with the
relevant literature. Make sure that the in-text citations and the references are used appropriately.
