Memo Essay #5: Compound Sentences
In Module 3, you submitted Memo Essay #1 revised as Memo Essay #3 with all simple
sentences. For Memo Essay #5, revisit Memo Essay #3 and revise it—only this time, revise
all the sentences so that they are now compound sentences. Include examples of each
sentence pattern discussed in the compound-sentence lesson. As before, follow all these
restrictions:
Single-space the memo essay. Length: 4 Paragraphs.
Set margins for 1.13” all around.
Paragraphs must run 4-6 lines each.
Separate memo paragraphs by one single space.
Do not indent memo paragraphs.
Do not use any form of the word you.
Do not use verbs in the command/imperative form.
Use 12-point Times New Roman font.
Edit & revise carefully – Proofread!
Follow all grammar rules as discussed in the Module 1 & 3 lessons.
Include a single-spaced memo heading at the top left of your essay (see below).
Skip two single spaces after the memo heading; bold and center your essay’s title.
Do not use all-caps for your title; capitalize appropriately.
Skip one single space after the title, then begin the first memo paragraph.
Follow all memo guidelines as explained in the class syllabus.
Due Date
The final draft of this four-paragraph essay must be submitted on Sunday, February 28.
