This writing assignment will promote reflective processes and critical analysis while being assessed for grammar, clarity, conciseness and coherence.

Students will compose a two-page essay, double-spaced, approximately 600-700 words, in which they will place the material in Expeditions 1 through 5, and associated reading assignments, in the context of required learning outcome #1 in all Area R courses, which is:

students will describe the methods and limits of scientific investigation as used in marine fish stock assessments.
Scoring will be based on ability to establish the context of subject matter in the introduction, content accuracy and comprehension of data acquisition, methods of analyses and outcomes of scientific investigations, and the limits of these outcomes in achieving the overall goals of fish stock assessment.
