Final Project

For your Final Project, you will further explore your own leadership profile using the perspectives, theories, and approaches covered in this course. You also will evaluate your strengths, challenges, and limitations in the areas of self-management, cognitive adeptness, interpersonal adeptness, organizational acumen, and global leadership competency. Finally, you will explain how you plan to further develop yourself as an effective leader in your current profession or in a profession that is of interest to you.

Your Final Project will be presented in the following way:
•A 10- to 12-page (not including references, title page, or abstract), double-spaced, APA-formatted paper .

All Final Projects must include:
•An analysis of your leadership profile using:
?Psychological Perspectives of Leadership and Leadership Theories – Be sure to explain how specific perspectives of leadership and leadership theories help to explain your leadership profile.
?Leadership Approaches (Trait, Skill, Style, and Situation) – Be sure to include descriptions of traits and skills you possess, your leadership behaviors and style, and professional situations in which you might excel and might be challenged.

•An evaluation of your strengths, challenges, and limitations in the following areas:
?Self-management
?Cognitive Adeptness
?Interpersonal Adeptness
?Organizational Acumen
?Global Leadership Competency

•An analysis of how you might develop yourself as a leader. Be sure to include descriptions of specific strategies you might use and explain how you might use them to expand or enhance your effectiveness as a leader.
•An explanation of how you might present yourself as a leader to a future employer in your current profession or in a profession that is of interest to you.
•An analysis of your potential effectiveness as a leader in your current profession or in a profession that is of interest to you.

Although the Final Project paper is not to be submitted until Week 11, Day 7, you should become familiar with the project requirements and have them in mind as you proceed through the course.

The Final Project will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Application Assignment and Final Project Writing Rubric, located in the Course Info area. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format.

My profession is: A renal social worker is a support person for patients both before and after they start dialysis. Social workers are highly educated and trained to help patients and their families by providing support in all areas of their lives including: emotional, financial, career, lifestyle adjustment and more.
