Jesus’ Death
Order Description
According to Matthew 27:46-50, Jesus’ last words are “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?,” after which he drank wine from a sponge then “cried again with a loud voice and breathed his last.” But according to John 19:28-30, Jesus says “I am thirsty,” is given wine on a sponge, the utters his last words, “It is finished,” and dies. Can these two accounts of Jesus’ death be reconciled? Why or why not? What do they say about the similarities or differences between these two gospels?
The essay is also required to have a counter argument and quotes from the Bible (KJV version)
