“This dissertation examines the history as well as the future of various propulsion systems for spaceflight ranging from multistage rockets to plasma-based propulsion systems. The purpose of this study is to identify the best possible method of propulsion for Deep Space Missions. By examining past methods and future ideas, one can narrow down the direction of future space travel. Traversing deep space will inevitably become an issue for humans to explore the outer limits of our solar system and beyond. Reusable rockets will be the next step but if the target for human spaceflight is beyond the Moon and Mars, investments to developing new cutting-edge technologies must be made. Innovation is key but some ideas borderline conceptual to borderline impossible.”

The final paper must not be less than 20 pages in length, not including title page and bibliography/references. There must be a minimum of five published (not web site) references, such as textbooks or papers published in professional journals, and at least eight total sources, which may also include magazine or web articles.
