Identifying Global Issues (The prompt and Submission link):

The purpose of this assignment is to practice with identifying a global issue in the real world. You can watch current affairs, read magazine articles or browse the internet. The global issue has to be recent and you should be able to link it to at least one of your text chapters.

The topics can range anything from politics to entertainment, from business to fashion. Write a short paragraph of no more than 200 words

Your Paragraph should include-

1. The global issue you identified. Mention the source. Be specific.( For example, New York Times newspaper, CNN news channel, Time magazine, BusinessInsider website, etc.)

2. What makes this a global issue?

3. Link the issue to the textbook or one of the Professors’ videos. Define briefly any specialized terminology, theory that applies. Provide references as needed (be brief).

4. Finally, briefly mention how this issue might be addressed (or not).

Hint: The challenge to this assignment is not “what to put into the essay,” but rather, What To Leave Out! It is a short assignment, lengthwise, so be careful to include only the most essential arguments. Do NOT go over-length. Penalties apply.
