Results Instructions and Grading Rubric
For the results section, we are going to report the results of the recall and recognition tests very similarly to how they are reported in Roediger and McDermott (1995).
Results
Experiment 1
Recall
Report the probability that a Studied (aka Presented) word was recalled. ( .63)
Report the probability that the critical lure was recalled. (.25)
Report the average number of studied words that were recalled in lists with CLs (5.21) and the average position in which the critical lure was recalled. (7.52)
Report Intrusion percentage. (.05)
Paired samples T-test comparing critical lure and intrusions
Recognition
*(All of these data can be found in Table 1, and should be referenced as coming from Table 1 in your Results text).
Report the proportion of Studied words that were recalled as a 3 or 4 (the proportions of these two summed together) (___) and contrast this with the sums of Unrelated Lures and Weakly Related words. (.___ and .___, respectively)
Report the proportion of Critical Lures recalled as a 3 or 4 (with summed proportions). (.___)
Report the proportion of Unrelated Lures that were marked as a 1 (.___) as compared to Weakly Related (.___) and CLs (.___).
Experiment 2
Recall
Report the probability that a Studied word was recalled. (.62)
Report the probability that the critical lure was recalled. (.25)
Report the average number of Studied words that were recalled in lists with CLs (7.00) and the average position in which the critical lure was recalled. (4.68)
Report Intrusion percentage. (.04)
Paired samples T-test comparing critical lure and intrusions
Recognition
*(All of these data can be found in Table 2, and should be referenced as coming from Table 2 in your Results text).
Overall Results
Recall. Report the t-test results for comparing Critical Lures, studied Words, Intrusions.
Exp. 1 vs. Exp 2 CLs: Paired samples t-test for CL,
Exp. 1 vs. Exp 2 Studied words: Paired samples t-test for studied words,
Exp. 1 vs. Exp 2 Intrusions: Paired samples t-test for Intrusions,
Recognition. Report the t-test results comparing “Old” CLs, “Old” “Studied words, “New” Weakly related words and “New” Intrusions.
Summation of 3 and 4-scored ("old”) CLs for Exp. 1 vs Exp 2:
Summation of 3 and 4-scored ("old") Studied words for Exp. 1 vs Exp 2:
Summation of 1 and 2-scored ("new") Weakly Related words for Exp. 1 vs Exp 2:
Summation of 1 and 2-scored ("new) Unrelated Lures for Exp. 1 vs Exp 2:
