Paper instructions:
It is a formal essay — that is to say organized, developed, and well thought out — rather than an off-the-cuff statement of some of your impressions of the subject essay. I don’t want this essay to be an outline of your first random thoughts and impressions, but rather a coherent presentation of your analysis after you have thought about the subject essay carefully and repeatedly. Avoid merely personal statements — e.g., I feel that the author is saying that . . .– in favor of more objective and confident statements — e.g., The author argues that. This is what the prof said, but I want it to be like my level of writing in my last work. knowing that I am international student, so English is not my first language.
