Preliminary Research:
For this assignment, you will begin your preliminary research by going to the online academic databases (Proquest or EBSCO) and finding articles from anthropological journals relevant to your potential area of research. You will be finishing this task for module 2. Your job is to find potentially relevant articles that will be the starting point of your research. The other task is to familiarize yourself with the academic databases, and in particular the anthropological literature. This is a 300-level School of Liberal Arts class, which requires you to conduct research. This is your main starting point into the anthropological literature. Although you are not required to settle on a topic for your study at this time, you should locate articles from these sources that are of interest to you, as they could be good starting points for your own research. Take some time to play around with your keyword searches while looking for articles. Present your sources using MLA format. (write half page) What are you considering for your research topic? How did you go about finding existing research on this topic? Was it easy or difficult to find what you were looking for? Based on your findings, are you considering shifting gears or modifying your topic at all? (2 page) you will present two or three potentially relevant articles, which were published in the list below or were otherwise approved by your instructor: Anthropology Quarterly |
