How to write your scientific paper/report
You will be writing a report in the style of a scientific paper, one that would be acceptable for publication in a peer-reviewed academic journal. The required length is 6-8 pages of double spaced
text (not including the title page, abstract, references, recommendations and tables/figures). Scientific style papers/reports contain the following sections, in this order :
• Title page – include name, student number and email address
• Abstract (maximum 200 words)
• Introduction (approx. 1 page)
• Methods (approx. 1 page)
• Results and Discussion (approx. 3-4 pages)
• Conclusion (approx. 1 page)
• References
• Recommendations (on a separate page, max. 1 page; bullet points allowed and encouraged)
