The media and entertainment world is flooded with works that involve crime and violence. As members of this society, these forms of entertainment are almost
impossible to avoid. Think of all the television shows (that actually are re-newed!) during the peak hours when most people watch TV- 8-11 pm. Nearly every major
station has at least one crime drama or procedural running during those hours, sometimes more than one. Think of all the movies that involve crime and violence that
came out just this past summer—we are simply flooded with images and sounds of violence and crime on a continuous basis.

For this assignment, you will be answering this question: why are Americans drawn to or fascinated with stories/movies/music about crime, prisons, and/or law
enforcement?
