1- Human civilization dates back thousands of years, for example in China, Egypt, Greece and Rome, but it has only been in the last three hundred years that we have seen the phenomena of increasing incomes, and population, spreading across the globe. Discuss how this has happened.

2-On the other hand, the first industrializing of the 18th and especially 19th centuries are still dominate in world affairs. Discuss why this has happened, and consider whether and which other countries might join the list by the end of 21st century.

3- Also, although population seems to have grown everywhere, many countries are still on the edge of poverty. Some would say that this is because the policy prescriptions of the rich countries may have been suited to their experience, but are less relevant – even destructive – of the aims and aspirations of the early 21st century LDCs. Discuss.
