duty of care skill and diligence+defenses

For the purposes of your Assignment:
1. Keep within the word limit – note that the word limit includes you referencing (that is, your
footnotes, endnotes or whatever means you use to identify sources are included in your word
count).
2. Include a word count – your Assignment must be typed.
3. As you would have previously presented on your topic in class you can (if you wish) use a small
part of your submission to reflect on your performance.
4. The greater part of your Assignment will be a direct and concise response to the specific topic that
you presented upon.
5. Make sure you address all questions or issues contained in the presentation topic.
6. Your Assignment must show an understanding and analysis of the relevant issues and evidence of
scholarly research.
7. Your Assignment must show that you have considered the relevant material in some depth, used
effective and applicable source material, and formed an opinion.
8. The Assignment must represent the result of the application of legal knowledge and skills, it must
display evidence of critical and analytical thinking, it must exhibit problem solving capacity and
research capability, and it must represent an ordered example of effective written communication.
8. The Assignment should be more than just a textbook summary sources must be clearly noted
and everything that is used directly from sources clearly attributed on every occasion and indicated
in inverted commas (quotation) you must use a system of footnotes or endnotes or other clear
means of identifying your sources.
9. See also the Unit Guide and the Assessment Guide, both on iLearn.
