Assessment 2: Presentation (30%) Description

In this module, diversity is explored as a multidimensional combination of Culture, Worldview and identity, oppression, power, privilege, gender, sexual orientation, fatherhood, spirituality, religion and disability. Choose ONE of these elements of diversity to focus on for your presentation. Have chosen SPIRITUALITY.

Your presentation should:

 Identify and define the issue

 Provide an overview of the issue and a summary of the issue of the research you accessed

 Reflect on something that has broadened your knowledge and understanding of the issue.

 Look at the impact of the issue on either an individual or on the family

Present a conceptual intervention that would either create a deepened awareness of the issue or that could assist individuals/families facing the issues

Instructions and guidelines for the presentation:

 Identify and define the issue.

 Research the issue.

 Provide an overview of the issue and a summary of the research you accessed.

 Where possible your research should be South African and should draw on contextualised and relevant information that has shifted your awareness and grounded your understanding of the issue from a theoretical perspective.

 Reflect on something you found specifically interesting that has broadened your knowledge and understanding of the issue.

 Look at the impact of the issue on either an individual or on the family.

 Present a conceptual intervention that would either create a deepened awareness of the issue or that could assist individuals/families facing the issue.
