Topic: Defining Global Leadership

In the introduction to a dissertation (Chapter 1), students are required to explain (a) what they understand by global leadership and (b) how their dissertation topic relates to the field of global leadership studies. The goal of this paper is to formulate a position that will guide your dissertation discussion on the global leadership definition (and will be included in the Chapter 1).
This is a seven pages analytical paper written in an argumentative voice. The arguments should introduce, explain, and support your position.
The paper should address the following questions:
1. How do you understand and define global leadership and why?
2. How is global leadership different from domestic leadership and why?
3. What are appropriate boundaries or scope for global leadership research and why?
4. What should be the future research agenda in the global leadership studies and why?
This paper IS NOT a review or summary of Global Leadership (Mendenhall et al., 2012). The paper should represent your original thoughts. This is where you introduce your definition or established definition and explain relevance and importance of this definition to global leadership research, practice, and your dissertation topic. This paper can be potentially submitted to an academic conference.

Structure:

1. Introduction: thesis and preview of main points
2. Main Body: (a) explain what specific method or approach did you utilize to desing a definition (see links below). The method should be stated upfront to introduce the logic and expectations to your readers, (b) explain why is it still important to define global leadership if there are already existing definitions?; (c) address 4 questions
3. Conclusion: what contribution did your paper (and approach) make to the area of global leadership studies and practice?

Format:
