| Choose one culture, movement or style from among the periods covered in class (for example: Early African, Ancient Greek, Etruscan, Chinese, etc.). – You may not choose anything beyond the periods covered by this class. This means before the 1350’s. 1. Create a work of art that ‘follows the rules’ of that movement. In other words, the medium, subject, title, techniques, and style should be consistent with those of artists in the movement you have chosen. 2. Compose one and a half to two pages that address the following: – Present the historical background of your chosen movement. – Selectively describe the style of the work of art created by your group and explain how it follows the conventions of your movement. – Do not write one paragraph for each of the above points, instead follow a typical essay format (i.e. include a title, introduction, thesis, evidence and conclusion). |
