Carefully read Chapter 14, review the genre lesson powerpoint, the mentor text, and the Business Insider article link. Consider the main issues discussed in Chapter 14 regarding the victimization of women. Search current news sites to find an article that depicts someone who experienced one of the forms of victimization, works with victims, advocates laws/policies that fight victimization, etc. As a writer for a magazine, you are to write a biography (fictionalized or authentic) using the person in the news article as your biography subject. Include the link to the article as a reference. Be creative! You can take any perspective you want (supportive, cautionary/warning, activist, etc.) to tell the story of this person′s life and how they came to experience the situation discussed in the news article. Use details from the original news article to jump start the biographical details. Include a title for your article and the magazine for which you work. Refer to the genre lesson powerpoint and include all structural elements outlined. Be sure to integrate evidence regarding the form of victimization and consequences from the textbook, Chapter 14. Use the mentor text as a guide. You will write your biography then add comments as I did to point out the concepts related to textbook reading.
