Twitter to communicate with the public since 20 January 2017. How do these two accounts use evaluative language to position themselves in relation to particular
‘imagined audiences’? Even though both accounts represent the same person, you will find they do so in different ways.
Collect and analyse at least 50 tweets (e.g. 25 from @POTUS and 25 from @realDonaldTrump) using the model of appraisal (opinion and sentiment in communication) that we have covered in the lectures.
Use this analysis to explore the kinds of interpersonal meanings that the “President of the United States’” and “President Donald Trump” construe in their Twitter communication.
