Write an essay on the following title:
Closed circuit TV cameras enhance public safety and individual freedom. Discuss.
For guidance, your report – maximum of 1000 words – should have the following sections:
Section 1: A brief introduction to the subject; what is your understanding of Closed circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, the technically correct name(s) for them, and their legal uses. This section must be clearly referenced using the Harvard System.
Section 2: Outline the approach you took to search for material; how do you know the information is accurate/correct, can the data be trusted, is the data qualitative (is information about qualities; information that cannot actually be measured; e.g. the softness of your skin, the colour of the sky), quantitative (is information about quantities; information that can be measured and written down with numbers), or anecdotal (is a brief narrative: a short account of an interesting or amusing incident, usually intended to illustrate or support some point in an essay, article, or chapter of a book)?
Section 3: In this section you present the case for and against CCTV cameras. Ensure you present a concise case for each side of the argument with the aim of arriving at your view. This section must be clearly referenced using the Harvard System; otherwise a mark of zero will be awarded.
Final Section: This should be a conclusion of around 4-5 lines. Ask yourself the question “Having read the conclusion is the reader in a position to know
what side I come down and what the rest of the report is about?”
Note:Use Times New Roman font typeset to 12points and 11/2 line spacing. The content and the general presentation of the report will also be marked. We are looking here for consistency in layout, good use of diagrams that are fully referenced and of good quality, well written sections, that provide the reader with easy reading, evidence that the essay has been proof read and is without spelling and grammar errors. The report is expected to have a content page with pages numbered and sections numbered.
