Choose one of the topic
Choose one of the following and write a 4-5 page paper. Papers are due in class and through turnitin at 6pm on Thursday.

1. People in a zombie apocalypsewill face profound psychological and emotional problems during the apocalypse: Grief, rage, lack of access to medication or drugs (legal or not), withdrawal symptoms, etc. What would be the best policies for a leader like Rick to handle such problems? Could a post-apocalyptic society even afford to deal with such issues? Compare this with how Rick actually handles such issues in the course of the novel.

2. Leadership presents itself in many forms throughout Kirkman’s The Walking Dead volumes. Using one or more characters from the volumes, provide a commentary on the digression or progression of leadership. Be sure to compare and/or contrast this with leadership found in institutions in today’s society such as the military, athletics, education, industry, etc

3. Is Hershell justified in kicking Rick and his group off his farm? Lori claims it’s murder. Is it? Is there any case that could be made to allow them to stay?

4.What role does the idea of separation play into the graphic novel? How does the theme develop and how does it shape the character’s actions?

5. Explore problems of gender performance in Walking Dead. How do gender roles break down or get reinforced? Examples: In issue one, women do the domestic work even though they’re the best shots. In volume two both Rick and Andrea tell Allen he needs to get tough to protect his children, but Andrea is the one Allen attacks, using misogynistic language.
