Description of Final Assignment:
Choose a topic of interest related to the RES 1005 Research Methods Course. Discuss in the appropriate discussion boards in RES 1005. Post the topic in RES 1004 by the
due date in Unit 4.
The final assignment for RES 1004 consists of two parts: the completed worksheet and the final assignment; both are submitted at the same time, but as two separate
documents/files in Unit 12.
Worksheet: To be completed by filling in topic, keywords, and databases searched. Name of the file: LastName_Worksheet.doc or docx (Please use MSWord compatible
format)
Final assignment: Consists of 5 segments and each segment should begin on a new page. The 4th segment is the Annotated Bibliography. The Final Assignment should be
formatted according to the APA style (6th ed.) together with the Saybrook Handbook (5th ed.).

The 5 segments of the final assignment are:
1. Title page (formatted according to the Saybrook Handbook)
• Each line is centered
• The title is all in capital letters
• Student name
• Course name and number
• Instructor’s name
• Submission date
• Add page numbers except to title page.
2. Topic Description
• A complete and full description of your research topic
• 1?2 to 1 page
3. Search Strategy
• A complete and full description of the search strategy explaining in detail how you went about researching the topic, including your search strategy and databases
searched. Include reflections from the readings (Mann, Brem, Tutorials, etc.)
• 1–2 pages
4. Annotated Bibliography

13 items in APA format (following the Saybrook Handbook adaptation). In the descriptive annotation provide a review of the content of the publication and explain why
you think that the item is of value to your research and why you included it in the bibliography;

1 chapter in an edited book
3 articles from scholarly journals
1 article from a newspaper or the popular press 1 annual review article
1 dissertation
1 case study or psychosocial instrument
1 web page
1 new type of media (blog, podcast, etc.)
Arrange the list alphabetically by author, if there is no author by title; follow APA (the 6th ed.) and Saybrook Handbook (5th ed.) for Reference format
Single space the references (as per Saybrook Handbook)
Double space the annotations (the text, first line indent for paragraph format)
