Discuss Modern American popular culture and how it changed over the last 30 years. What is Modern American popular culture, and how would you describe it? What is the role of modern popular culture in American society? In your opinion, what is the biggest issue or change in Modern American popular culture?
Your exam will consist of 7-9 pages plus an annotated bibliography, typed, double spaced, using standard 1″ margins and 12 point, Times New Roman font (or similar font). All answers must be in essay format with an introduction and conclusion. The essay is an individual assignment and should be your own work. This exam is worth 250 points.
The class material is the basis for your answer; however you must use other sources to fully answer the question. You must use three outside sources (other than the books for the class or textbooks of any kind) to answer the question. You may use EBSCO or JSTOR to find articles. You may use Wikipedia as a start for ideas, but this cannot be used as a source. This includes any other encyclopedia online or hard bound such as Encarta and others. Do not use textbooks as a source.
Also, you must have in-text citations. If you use direct quotes or if you paraphrase ideas or information from your sources, it must be cited.
You must provide an annotated bibliography of your three sources as part of this exam. You must provide a solid concise one to two paragraph analysis of each of your sources. This bibliography is in addition to the 7-9 page essay. For each source you will examine the evidence the source provides; question its accuracy, precision, relevance, and completeness.
