We will be focusing on the recent strike by (Unite) union member bus drivers working for First Hampshire and Dorset.
Repesented by Unite the Union, the bus drivers for First Dorset wanted to negotiate an 8% pay raise of 3 years to match pay with their counterparts in Yeovil, Somerset.
First Dorset have said that this kind of pay raise is not viable and unaffordable- that bus drivers should take the pay raise of % previously agreed and offered.
Unite and First Dorset have called upon the abritation service ACAS to help settle the dispute.
ACAS outcome will be legally binding.
60% of bus drivers involved in the dispute – as of March 2013 the fleet consisted of 360 buses.
Temporary timetable has been put in place during this time hoping to cause as little disruption to customers as possible.
