A Case Study of Global Geo-Politics Essay writing

International geopolitics explicates the relationship connecting international political authority, space ownership, the presence of natural resources and how they get utilized, the distribution of international population, and the use of military units in securing all the previous elements. A review of previous, current, and future trends in global geopolitics presents a world consumed in the struggle for limited resources. These are presented through international relations, economic policies and their roles in energy trade, public policy and its relation to energy, political science, and security as it relates to energy and other resources. Considerably, energy forms the basis of almost every activity in today’s life. Because of its vitality, having more energy resources becomes the mode of determining richness and security status of a country. Energy wealth is used to establish regional collaborations among states. At the same time, it intermittently sparks wars between producers and consumers of energy or both groups in occasional instances. Modern global geopolitics focuses on climatic concerns, global economics, international conflicts, their solutions, and the use of military forces in securing energy and other resources.
Physical security and the security of resources play major roles in determining international relations. Notably, both World War I and World War II were fought as a result of numerous strains concerning struggles for power and resources. Although numerous activities led to the onset of WWI, the root causes encompass formation of mutual defense alliances, extended imperialism, militarism, the commission of nationalism, and the rise of different crises. A number of similarities apply to WWII. They reveal outstanding elements about international geopolitics and security. The process of ensuring security for resources is dependent on a country’s ability to diversify on factors related to energy supply, energy sources, infrastructural layout for distribution of energy, and its military power. Different countries have divergent views on how security can be ensured for their development. For example, while the United States lays emphasis on a reliable supply of energy to ensure energy security, the European Union prioritizes factors related to cost and the fact that energy can be affordable. They also focus on environmental friendliness in energy policies of their trade partners.
Environmental concerns consider the effects of various forms of energy on the environment and climate change. Global geopolitics presents an outstanding interconnectedness between policies formulated to govern issues of climate change, energy, and environment. Despite natural processes being responsible for portions of change in the climate, the role played by human activities on land surfaces and industrial actions is significant in climate change. Attempts to remediate conditions on climate change target the reduction of the extent to which humans depend on fossil fuels. Common international grounds taken by humans in various conferences to help curb negative effects of energy consumption on the environment include the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol Framework. Noting that the concern and outcry for policies that would curb greenhouse gasses emission is high, criticism still lies in challenges related to implementation by most governments.
Militarism presents another outstanding element of global geopolitics. Just like in the periods preceding WWI and WWII, countries have become obsessed with expanding their military and combat capabilities. Most governments treat military units exceptionally with defense forces getting large sums of national budgets. This money is used to train and arm military units. The numbers of service persons in all military units have grown tremendously. Again, weapons of mass destruction have been developed. In all, the role of these units is to protect respective citizens and their national resources.
In conclusion, modern global geopolitics explains international political authority, space ownership, the presence of natural resources, and how they get utilized by involved populations. In these processes, states train and equip their military units to protect their international interests. Other than these, international communities also place emphasis on environmental challenges and approaches of reducing negative impacts of industrial gasses on the environment. In sum, modern global geopolitics can be viewed as the rise of militarism to protect resources.
