Module Assessment

Assessment of this module involves the submission of a 5000 word portfolio, which is based around your placement. Your portfolio must follow the following structure:

PART A – Workplace Development

1.Placement Overview (10%): provide a brief overview of the organisation you are working in, including its aims and structure, as well as describing the role you have been assigned to within the organisation.
2.Development Goals (10%): identify 2-4 key development goals which you have at the start of your placement. These should be realistic goals, based on the work you are expecting to carry out. Examples of such goals could be developing your ability to work within a team or independently, dealing with difficult situations in a workplace environment, or developing your understanding and knowledge of a specific profession. Ensure that you explain how you hope to achieve these goals
3.Practice Diary (10%): write a brief report on your role(s) within the host organisation. This section should describe your duties and activities at work. Focus on events/activities that helped you progress towards your development goals.
4.Development Diary (20%): reflect on how your experiences within the organisation have helped you to develop new or existing skills. Specifically, you need to identify whether you have achieved the goals you had when you began your placement (listed in part A2), and discuss (with appropriate examples) why you have or have not managed to do so.
PART B – Application of theory in practice

1.Evaluating evidence based practice in your workplace (25%): identify one aspect of the work conducted by your host organisation and critically evaluate the extent to which this work is ‘evidence based’. This will involve carrying out a review of appropriate psychological literature, and local, national and global policies (where such documents exist), and determining whether or not any or all aspects of this practice are based on sound empirical evidence.
2.Developing evidence based practice (25%): finally, you are required to develop a proposal for ONE area of change in your host organisation, based on appropriate psychological theory and evidence, which would be expected to improve some aspect of the organisation’s work. It would be advisable to discuss this with your placement supervisor and/or the module coordinator, who will be able to advise you on a suitable subject for this part of your assessment.

Under placement overview( I did my work placement in a CARE HOME called (LARCHWOOD CARE HOME for old people with DEMENTIA.

ALSO NOTE
Some of the roles that i was assigned to.
1. Assisting clients in getting up in the morning with a member of Staff
2. To assist clients to wash, bath, and shower.
3.To assisit clients to dress and undress
4. To assist clients in toileting needs.
5. To assist clients in feeding(for those who can not feed themselves.
6. I was also meant to engage them in chatting(chatting with them)
7. I also helped with the assistance of a member of staff in serving of foods and teas.
